The photograph below shows a restored Decca audio amplifier, model SC100, circa 1964, serial no. 55681. The unit is powered by two Siemens EL84 output pentodes, configured in push-pull, & driven by a Brimar CV4004 twin triode. The output transformer is a little gem, comprising a radiometalic core, distributed load & carefully sectioned windings to produce a deep, rich, liquid timbre so coveted by vintage, audio enthusiasts. The average power output of the amplifier is 7 watts into an optimum 15 ohm loudspeaker network; its square wave symmetry & overall stability are exceptional. The unit ranks among the finest performing we've encountered.
