The photograph below shows a restored Decca audio amplifier, model SC100, circa 1964, serial no. 55681. The unit is powered by two, nicely balanced, Siemens EL84 output pentodes configured in push-pull & driven by a legendary Brimar CV4004 twin triode. The output transformer is a little gem, comprising a radiometalic core, distributed load (for ultra-linear operation) & perfectly sectioned windings to produce a deep, rich, liquid timbre so coveted by vintage audio enthusiasts. The average power output of the amplifier is 7 watts into an optimum 15 ohm loudspeaker network; its square wave symmetry is exceptional, & without doubt the unit ranks among the finest we've encountered.
